Attending Downstate allowed me to stay in Brooklyn, near my family. In addition, Downstate was within my financial means. Finally, I had a sibling who graduated from the medical school, and she is a wonderful doctor. I believe that, in part, this is due to her Downstate education.

I was in the BA/MD program, which was affiliated with SUNY Downstate.
