Accelerated Nursing: Admissions Criteria
- A baccalaureate degree in another discipline from a CHEA regionally accredited college or university
- A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- A grade of “C” or better in the following prerequisite courses:

- Nurse Entrance Test (NET)
- The NET assesses (1) basic science reading comprehension, (2) math skills, and (3) written expression (grammar).
- Register for the NET,
using one of the following options:

- call Educational Resources, Inc. at 1 (800) 299-EXAM, 8am – 5pm Central Standard Time (CST) and ask for Customer Service Center.
- On the Web:
- Go to www.eriworld.com.
- Look for the NET registration announcement.
- Pay the registration fee with a credit or debit card.
- An applicant may re-take the test once within an admission/application cycle. A second registration will be required.

The NET exams will be administered at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
All science perequisite courses must have been completed within the past seven year of the date expected entry into the program.
In addition to English Composition, if your college has writing intensive courses listed and described as such in their catalog, these are also acceptable to fulfill the English Composition requirement.
