Nursing, RN to BS: Admissions Criteria

  1. A New York State R.N. license
  2. A preferred undergraduate minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
  3. A grade of “C” or better in the following prerequisite courses:

Anatomy & Physiology 1 with lab and
Anatomy & Physiology 2 with lab

General Chemistry 1 with lab 3–4
Microbiology with lab* 3–4
Sociology/Anthropology 6
Psychology 6
English Composition**

(must be higher level than English 1)

Computer Elective 2–3
Humanities/Social Sciences
(credits include, but not limited to: Humanities, Political Science, Speech, Religion, Foreign Language, Philosophy, Economics, Additional Psychology, Additional Sociology, Additional Anthropology, Literature, Arts, Theatre, Music, and courses labeled Social Sciences.)

** In addition to English Composition, if your college has writing intensive courses listed and described as such in their catalog, these are also acceptable to fulfill the English Composition requirement.
