New York State Memorial Scholarships for Families of Deceased Police Officers and Firefighters

This award provides assistance to children and spouses of police officers, firefighters, and volunteer firefighters who served in NY State and died as a result of injuries sustained in the line of duty. These awards are not income dependent. Recipients receive awards equal to actual tuition charges plus non-tuition costs (room and board, books, supplies and transportation), less any Pell Grant or TAP funds received. The award is available for four years of undergraduate study or five years for certain approved programs.
