National Medical Foundation August 31st National Medical Fellowship's mission is to provide scholarships for underrepresented minorities in medicine. Our primary goal is to achieve equity of opportunity in medicine and equity of access to quality healthcare for all groups in American society by increasing the number of minority physicians and changing the face of medicine to better reflect-and serve—our diverse nation.
American Heart Association Council Sponsored Student Scholarship March 19th Awards up to $2000
Chinese American Physicians Society February 28th Award: $2000 to $5000
Chinese American Medical Society April 30th Must be a first, second, or third year medical student at a U.S. medical school. Slots are open for students who show merits and also financial hardship.
Herbert Nickens May 3rd The award is given to an individual who has made outstanding contribution to promoting justice in medical education and health care for people in the U.S. Award up to $5000. The instructions on how to apply is usually available mid-January in the Financial Aid Office.
Joseph Collins March 1st Student must be nominated by the Dean or Dean’s designate. Demonstrate interest in arts and letter or other cultural pursuits outside of medicine, scholastic record must stand in the upper half of the class and intends to specialize in neurology, psychiatry or becoming a general practitioner. Award $10000
AMA Minority Scholarship April 15th Student must be nominated by the Dean or Dean’s designate. This award recognizes personal commitment to improving minority health status, scholastic achievement and financial need among minority students. Award $10000.
Physicians of Tomorrow May 29th Student must be nominated by the Dean or Dean’s designate. Nominee must be a rising medical school senior chosen for the award during their third year. Award $10,000
Scholar Fund July 1st Recipient(s) must be chosen by the Dean or Dean’s designate. Fund is based on academic excellence and/or financial need. Award $1000.
The Association of Women Psychiatrists’ Leah J. Dickstein, M.D. Award February 15th Student must be nominated by medical school Open to female medical students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement. Creativity and leadership. Award $1000.
Howard G. Lapsley Memorial Scholarship May 1st For one or more deserving candidates enrolled in a degreed program in medicine, osteopathy or dentistry.
The New York Academy of Medicine Februrary 1st The New York Academy of Medicine offers several research grants from Urology to Cardiovascular.

Scholarships for Medical Students based on Residency Status

Worcester District Medical Society July 30st Intended for 2nd, 3rd & 4th year medical students. Must be a legal resident of Central Massachusstts at the time of applying to medical school.
AMA Foundation June 15th Arthur N. Wilson MD Scholarship for Southwest Alaska Residents. Award $5000
Wellsford & Mildred Clark Medical Memorial April 30th Contact the Financial Aid Office for details on how to apply Resident of Connecticut. Award up to $50,000 (over 4 years)
Essex South District Medical Society December 1st Contact the Financial Aid Office for details on how to apply To assist in funding the medical education of a student from an Essex South city or town.
Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Scholarship Program May 15th Must have attended at least 8 years of public and/or parochial school in Connecticut, graduated from a public and/or parochial high school in Connecticut and should be in their 1–3 year of medical school. Award from $1000 to $2000
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago Academic Scholarship Februray 1st For Jewish student who are identified as having promise for significant contributions in their chosen careers, and are in need of financial assistance for full-time academic programs primarily in the helping professions.
The Rowe Fund (LOAN) Educational loan program to assist citizens from Latin America and the Caribbean
