Deferment of Loans
Stafford/Direct Loan and Perkins Loan Deferments
- In-School Deferment:
- As long as you maintain at least half time enrollment in a degree program you will qualify for a deferment on you Stafford/Direct Loans. The interest on the Unsubsidized portion of these loans will, however, continue to accrue interest.
- Graduate Fellowship Deferment
- Residents who enter a graduate fellowship program following the completion of their residency program should contact their loan servicer.
