Letter from the Residence Hall Council PresidentWelcome!
Browse around for information on upcoming events and opportunities to participate in. The Residence Hall Council works closely with the Residential Life and Services Staff to help make the residence halls a place students can call home. You may be asking yourself how you too can be a member of the Residence Hall Council. As long as you are a resident in the Residence Halls you are in luck! You are an automatic member of the council and have the privilege of attending our monthly meetings and special events. Past events include Football night, Sunday brunches, late night desserts, movie nights, game nights, Sushi making tutorial and wine tasting, amongst many others. In addition we make sure the holidays are not forgotten here at the Residence Halls by selling candy grams. As residents of the Flatbush community, we invite the children of the neighborhood into the Residence Halls for our annual Halloween Extravaganza. We decorate the Halls and offer a safe community for the children to trick-or-treat in. In addition, we have games for the children to participate in, Mickey’s House of Villains to entertain them and our resident artists painting their faces. It is often a toss up about who is having more fun…the children or the residents! Residence Hall Council provides the medium for residents to help plan programs that they are interested in. Creative ideas are always welcome and residents are encouraged to participate in event planning. If you have an idea, question or concern please feel free to contact any of the officers. It is our job to make living in the Residence Halls as pleasurable as possible but we need your input! Looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting! Yours Truly, Lori Ellis |
