Letter from the Residence Hall Council President
I would like to personally thank you for choosing Downstate Residence Halls as your place to live and grow as you seek higher education. Continuing your studies and trying to balance all aspects of your personal life are certainly not easy tasks to accomplish. Residence Hall Council (RHC) is here to help you balance your life by bringing fun opportunities for you to engage other residents and build community. RHC is a body of student leaders on campus that work very closely with the Office of Residential Life and Services team to help broaden your campus experience. All residence hall residents are members of the council and are welcome to attend our monthly Wednesday meetings and special events. In the past years we have organized events ranging from our annual Trick-or-Treat night for neighborhood children, to wine tasting, international potluck dinners, midnight breakfasts, and holiday gatherings to name a few. These were just some of the great ideas that were sponsored by the council. However, we cannot keep doing this alone, folks! We need your help! Every meeting serves as an open forum for residents to voice their concerns, share their ideas, and give feedback on how we can make the residence halls better than the previous year. All residents are definitely encouraged to take on an active role in programming. RHC is here to support your ideas. We hope to bring the best out of you this upcoming year! See you at our next meeting! Best, Andy Chang |
