Graduation Requirements

To be considered for graduation, you must achieve the following:

  1. Satisfactory completion of the first and second year curricula;
  2. Satisfactory completion of all clinical course requirements as delineated in the College Bulletin and the Course Selection Book;
  3. Satisfactory remediation of any academic deficiencies;
  4. Be in good standing (i.e., not on academic or clinical or disciplinary probation at the time of graduation);
  5. Have no disciplinary charges in progress or pending;
  6. Pass Step 1 of the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) as specified by College policy;
  7. Satisfy all financial obligations due SUNY Downstate;
  8. Complete all mandatory financial aid exit interviews if you received financial aid while at SUNY Downstate;
  9. Register for and satisfactorily complete all required course work.

All students must take Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) and Clinical Skills (CS) of the USMLE by January 31st of their senior year.
