Integrative Medicine Society

The Integrative Medicine Society aims to inform students and faculty of the current therapies practiced by health professionals outside the realm of traditional (allopathic) medical care. The public’s interest and knowledge of alternative medicine has flourished over the past several years. We feel it is the physician and student’s responsibility to educate him or herself about the nature and validity of alternative treatments.

The IMS is open to all COM students.

Speakers experienced in their respective fields are encouraged to share the philosophy behind their treatments, their practical applications, as well as the drawbacks that have been encouraged in practice. The informal forum will have an opportunity for discussion and education in an area that will certainly become an integral part of medicinal practice in the future.
