Job Title REACH Summer 2018 Administrative Assistant 
Description

         Work with Program Co-Directors and the Project Coordinator to manage the program

  • Create a pre- and post-program online survey and ensure all recruited students take the survey
  • Help prepare the REACH 2018 calendar and student handbook
  • Coordinate with REACH faculty visits to clinic, lectures and schedule classrooms
  • Schedule meetings for the Program Co-Directors and the Project Coordinator and events (e.g., guest speaker, luncheons, career development presentations)
  • Process student stipends and other invoicing as required
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, filing, scanning, faxing and copying to management, purchasing
  • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails
  • Other tasks as needed.
Hourly Pay  $15 
Max hours per week  20
Start Date  ASAP- Mid August 2018
Required Skills  Bachelor degree required, in health science is a plus
  • 2+ years of hands on administrative support experience
  • Experience working with youth ages mid-teens to mid-20s is a plus

Job Title REACH Summer 2018 Project Coordinator
Description  Work with Program Co-Directors to create a work plan and timeline to implement the REACH 2018 summer program
  • Work with the REACH Administrative Assistant to implement the summer program
  • Assist the co-sponsors with the recruitment of students
  • Coordinate with SUNY DS offices for recruited students to receive all necessary training, such as laboratory safety, conduct in a clinical setting and animal protocol training, and obtain permission forms
  • Coordinate and supervise students during all REACH 2018 activities (e.g., lectures, laboratory work, visits to clinic, meeting with guest speakers, career development presentations, student presentations, graduation presentations and ceremony)
  • Work with Program Co-Directors to create a final evaluation report of the REACH 2018 summer program
  • Other tasks as needed.
Pay  $15
Max hours per week  20
Start Date  ASAP-Mid August 31st 2018
Required Skills  
  • Bachelor degree required, in health science is a plus
  • 2+ years of hands on administrative support experience and Knowledge of Survey Monkey a plus
  • Experience working with youth ages mid-teens to mid-20s is a plus
  • High proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook a must
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – to interact clearly and professionally
  • Strong research and analytical skills and attention to detail

HSA Class Instructors
Description Class instructors for Health Science Academy, an after school High School enrichment program. Instruct/Lecture high school students for 10 week clinical modules in Fall & Spring in Physiology & Anatomy courses. Fall classes include Intro to Physio, Respiro & Neuro. Spring classes include Cardio, Repro, & Gastro or 3 week mini-modules include Strategies for Academic Success study courses or Research Skills. Administering and prompt grading of exams, as well as periodic check-ins with HSA staff required. All curriculum and materials are provided.

Job Title HSA Dissection Assistants
Description Assists in HSA dissection classes. Classes/Dissections include: intro to Physiology (fetal pigs), Cardiology (sheep hearts), and Respiratory (sheep plucks), Gastroenterology (pig stomachs), and Neurology (sheep brains). Assist in preparation of lab space, handing out of instruments and material, overseeing students during dissection, assist in cleanup. Familiarity with dissections helpful.
